Actors

We have chose Nikhil to act for our opening scene as he is better than Raj at acting. You can clearly see that Raj in the video above cannot act as he keeps looking directly at the camera, so this would make the whole opening scene seem unreal. Also he kept laughing which is totally unprofessional, so we did not decide to make him an actor.

Production log - Week 10

Before we started filming, we did a risk assessment to avoid any issues and we created a call list. If it rained on the day that we film, it wouldn't make a difference to us as we will be indoors throughout the whole shooting process so I created a recce just incase.

Common Problems

Our group may face problems which are common in film-making, some may be significant, and some may be very minor problems. Some examples can be:

  • Some may confuse it for a short film, ending the film very prematurely to try and tell the entire story. However, this can be easily avoided with the script, and the storyboard.
  • Microphone may be too far away from the character, so audio may be poor. Same can be used for lighting, because poor lighting can make it difficult for the audience to see.
  • There may be pedestrians walking in the street, and can take away the verisimilitude from the film.

Representation (Culture) by Daniel

Production Log Week Six

Week Six:

As I was put in charge for acting and editing I started doing my own individual research. I was researching on how to create movie like intros this part seems pretty simple because the intro will have a few names for distributors and
Production Company and that’s it. Once I was done researching that I started to
research on editing for thrillers, it was pretty interesting especially because it was a YouTube video which meant I was not constantly reading. These videos went into real depth, for example things like in thrillers most directors like to use low key lighting and instead of wasting time in real life adjusting and adapting to the natural lighting it can be done much easier using editing via the lighting adjusting features. In my spare time I also made a few logos for the shady entertainment production company. I made it using images from Google, which I had rights for and combined them all into a 800 by 800 pixels image. I made a few designs and then asked my group which one they wanted to use for the actual production company. There were seven images to choose from and as a group we chose one. Making these logos was pretty hard especially because you want to be original however you do not want to breach any copyright issues. So I researched logos, this included me writing
“scary film production logos” into Google images and from there I got ideas. After gathering all my ideas I made the following logos.

Script (Week 6)

Production log - Week 9

We started to pick rolls, we were going to be responsible for in the group. We chose a role for example, Nikhil chose the role of editor, Daniel chose the role of cameraman, James chose the role of director and I chose the roll of sounds.
