Actors
We have chose Nikhil to act for our opening scene as he is better than Raj at acting. You can clearly see that Raj in the video above cannot act as he keeps looking directly at the camera, so this would make the whole opening scene seem unreal. Also he kept laughing which is totally unprofessional, so we did not decide to make him an actor.

Production log - Week 10
Before we started filming, we did a risk assessment to avoid any issues and we created a call list. If it rained on the day that we film, it wouldn't make a difference to us as we will be indoors throughout the whole shooting process so I created a recce just incase.

Common Problems
Our group may face problems which are common in film-making, some may be significant, and some may be very minor problems. Some examples can be:
- Some may confuse it for a short film, ending the film very prematurely to try and tell the entire story. However, this can be easily avoided with the script, and the storyboard.
- Microphone may be too far away from the character, so audio may be poor. Same can be used for lighting, because poor lighting can make it difficult for the audience to see.
- There may be pedestrians walking in the street, and can take away the verisimilitude from the film.

Production Log Week Six
Week Six:
As I was put in charge for acting and editing I started doing my own individual research. I was researching on how to create movie like intros this part seems pretty simple because the intro will have a few names for distributors and
Production Company and that’s it. Once I was done researching that I started to
research on editing for thrillers, it was pretty interesting especially because it was a YouTube video which meant I was not constantly reading. These videos went into real depth, for example things like in thrillers most directors like to use low key lighting and instead of wasting time in real life adjusting and adapting to the natural lighting it can be done much easier using editing via the lighting adjusting features. In my spare time I also made a few logos for the shady entertainment production company. I made it using images from Google, which I had rights for and combined them all into a 800 by 800 pixels image. I made a few designs and then asked my group which one they wanted to use for the actual production company. There were seven images to choose from and as a group we chose one. Making these logos was pretty hard especially because you want to be original however you do not want to breach any copyright issues. So I researched logos, this included me writing
“scary film production logos” into Google images and from there I got ideas. After gathering all my ideas I made the following logos.
Production log - Week 9
We started to pick rolls, we were going to be responsible for in the group. We chose a role for example, Nikhil chose the role of editor, Daniel chose the role of cameraman, James chose the role of director and I chose the roll of sounds.

Production log - Week 8
We started to research for our films and analysis different film openings and other student work. This helped me a lot as I was able to see what the students did well and what they needed to improve. This allowed me to notice the different aspects and be aware of them when making our production so that we didn't make any mistakes. Our teacher also gave us examples of the way to write out our analysis.

Week 5: Daniel
Week 5: For Story and Narrative, I basically outlined likely plots in a thriller movie, what things would be included (props) and make-up used. Every genre has a certain Mise-En-Scene, therefore we decided what usual props there are, and what typical plots are found. Similarly, Iconographies and Conventions were alike. There was not much different, only outlining the story of OUR film. How comparing our film to a real-life film would not have much difference.
Psychological Thriller Pitch - Raj
Psychological Thriller Pitch - Raj
First pitch - A couple and a friend finds themselves in an abandoned warehouse looking for a missing talisman which has been lost for several years, but they walk into something much bigger than they imagined. They were held captive and trained to assassin business men in cold blood for the mayor.
Second pitch - In the darkest corner of the city, a school called 'Regina's high school' had many types of supernatural creatures. There are werewolves, vampires, shape shifters etc. all disguised as ordinary humans which are all professional killers.

Genre/Sub Genre Analysis
For Genre/Sub-Genres, I had chosen examples of real-life movies that we had chosen for our 2nd choice, either Thriller, or Comedy (Romantic). We had written down pros and cons for both, but we opted for a thriller, seeing as it'd be more easier for the audience to determine what genre the film was, instead of making a lackluster script, intending to be funny, but we were not that creative to make a script of such kind.
Pitch Analysis
The pitches were simply synopses of our films. We had taken a bit of time to become creative in terms of thinking of an interesting plot which would fit under our chosen genre. We ultimately chose my 2nd choice, the man waking up from a coma...., since it would be easy to do. Only one character was needed, location was the only one we needed to find. But other than that, I had the responsibility of choosing shots, making certain decisions, and choosing shots carefully in order to make the audience feel something towards the protagonist.
Genre and Sub-Genres
- Thriller
Pros: Less time needed to make witty scripts, or funny blocking (positioning of characters) to create laughter from the audience.
Simple locations can be used, while adding a filter to change the atmosphere without extensive props or special effects.
Music is easier, because it can be sped up to enhance tension
Cons: Ideas may be unoriginal, since so many thriller films have been made, therefore creativity may be limited.
Lighting may probably have to be low-key, so extra lights may be needed to get a sufficient quality shot.
Many shots may be needed to establish more suspense, but may be difficult for actors to 'freeze' while change of shot is taking place.
- Rom-Com
Pros: Possibly easier than a thriller, since no thought is needed on how to scare, or raise tension in a scene.
Can be filmed in any room, as long as there is high-key lightning to fit the mood
Cons: Ideas will be hard to come across.
Script may be hard to write, to invoke laughter.
Person has to fit with the character (to suit him/her) and this can help the audience relate with the characters. (It might be hard to find a good person to suit)
Pitches
Psychological Thriller- Pitch by Daniel
Pitch One-
A ragged man, in a gown, shoeless knocks on the door of an abandoned street. Chased by alien-behaving humans, he barges into the door and barricades it. He finds a pair of deceased people on the floor, the rooms filled with a foul stench. He allocates in the house, and finally rests from the unknown creatures who chased him. Days pass and a mysterious knock on the door is present...
Pitch Two -
A man, dirty and bearded, wakes up from a coma. Still dazed from the light he has not seen in months, he frantically walks around the house to find out where his parents are. His discovery as he goes outside the house to find them overwhelms him.

Production Log (Week 4)
Week 4: I had done 3 different tasks in a week; opening film analysis, pitches, and genres/sub-genres. The opening analysis for 2 different films was difficult. The editing of the slides can be very time-consuming, but Prezi also seemed very monotonous. It was not a very hard task, only analyzing certain important scenes which fit under MECS (Mise-En-Scene, Editing, Camera, Sound). I particularly enjoyed these films, therefore I found it easier to analyse. These also fit under the genres that we would base our film on, consequently bolstering our knowledge on these types of films.

Production log - Week 7
We planned where we will be filming and what kind of shots we will be needing as James created a storyboard and we have been thinking over this throughout the start of the year so we know what everyone in my are doing.
Production Log Week Five
Week Five:
As a group we decided that I would be doing the editing alongside acting. We also discussed a location and I input that if someone has had a coma they are most likely going to be at home in a bed with a bandage and pyjamas. I also said that to show that he has been in a coma for almost a month, during the beginning of the opening scene we will take a close up shot of a calendar of the same year but off a month before with all the days crossed off apart from the last one so it shows he has been in a coma for month. I also said that to show that the person was in a coma we could get
“get well soon” cards and have a close up of it and what’s written inside to show the date of which the card was wrote, this is also to show that he has been in a coma for a month.
Production Log: Week 3
Week Three:
This week we had started filming. As a group we decided that Daniel did not want to be recorded so I would be acting, alongside Raj and James. Raj was only used for the beginning as the camera was lifted over the back of someone’s head. I was doing the role of Tommy from Snatch. It was pretty easy as there was no talking it was simply actions however the difficult part was synchronising it with the video.
After it was all recorded I had done all the editing by myself because I’ve edited and made videos for YouTube before so I knew the editing techniques. On the school mac I chose to edit on iMovie as this is what I had previously used for my YouTube videos. During the editing I had to pick all the useful clips because some shots were taken many times and delete the useless clips. This was so that I know which ones to use. After that I had to put a number on each video so I know in what order to upload the videos so that when I combine them all they all flow. After adding all the videos on their order I had to put transitions after the end of each clip so that the person watching does not realise that there was an animation to the next scene. It all flows. After then combining the videos and adding the transitions I exported the video so it’s all one video. Then once I had a full video I put that into iMovie and started to add sounds and filters. This was to make it seem really realistic. After watching the finished version over a few times I did find a few faults in the editing sector. These were that there were too many of the same transactions used so it gets really boring. However by this time it was too late as it was uploaded to our YouTube channel.
Another fault I found was when I was using the “less shaky” editing feature on iMovie it did not really make the video less shaky. In fact it made it worse because in some scenes you can see that the background is moving and the actual actor is not moving. So it was a bit confusing I do not know whether it was a fault on my side or if it’s a fault with iMovie. I think this because the iMacs had all been updated to the latest firmware therefore there could be a few bugs on the software and maybe the less shaky feature was one of the issues.

Thriller Director Research
One of the most popular directors of my groups genre is Alfred Hitchcock. He has directed many successful thrillers during his time of directing movies. These include Psycho, Vertigo, Rear Window and North By Northwest.
Psycho got a rating of 8.6 out of ten. They had a budget of $800k and they smashed box office by earning $32 million on box office. The film was so successful that it was reissued to theatres in 1965. A year later, CBS purchased the television rights for $450,000. It won awards for Best Motion Picture, Best Actor and also Best Supporting Actress.
Vertigo got a rating of 8.4 out of ten. They had a budget of $2.4 million and in box office sales earned $14 million. It is the first film to utilize the dolly zoom, an in-camera effect that distorts perspective to create disorientation. It won awards for Best Picture and Best Director.
Rear Window got a rating of 8.6 out of ten. They had a budget of one million dollars and ended up get $36.7 million sales on box office which was a huge success. In 1997, Rear Window was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congressas being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". It won an award for Best Picture.
North By Northwest got a rating of 8.5 out of ten. They had a budget of $4.3 million and on box office sales, sold $9.8 million. According to MGM records the film earned $5,740,000 in the US and Canada and $4.1 million elsewhere, resulting in a profit of $837,000. The movie won an award for Best Motion Picture, Best Actor and Top Action Drama.
Alfred Hitchcock movies did have something in common and this was his themes and plot devices. He uses a lot of suspense in most of his movies. Many of his movies involved placing a normal human in some of the most extra ordinary situations. For example in the movie The Man Who Knew Too Much an ordinary man goes on a vacation and during the vacation his son is kidnapped. In The Wrong Man is when a ordinary man gets arrested for a crime he does not commit. Mistaken identity is also a common plot device for example in North By Northwest where Roger Thornhill playing Cary Grant is mistaken for a non-existence CIA agent. Finally staircases were often a main role in Hitchcock's movies for example in Shadow of a Doubt, Uncle Charlie attempts to murder his niece by rigging a staircase to collapse and in Dial M for Murder, a key kept under the stair carpet plays a pivotal role in catching the murderer.

Remake Analysis
We remade the opening scene from snatch as to be honest it was pretty easy to do. There was only a few shots included and only 2 main characters involved.
What went well in the group?
We were good at communicating with each other and actually telling each other what they could do better. This way we could have a really precise remake of the opening scene. After every shot we took the whole group would look at the scene together and judge whether it should be shot again or not. If there was something wrong with it we would just give our opinion to the camera man and he would take it into consideration. Due to this communication our remake was filmed and edited in one day.
What skills i gained?
Firstly communication skills were important to gain and so by talking to my group repeatedly I gained this skill. Secondly I gained acting skills, I've never done acting before and in the remake I learnt how to act by watching and imitating a professional actor. I also learned how to film because when we would find the negatives in the shot recorded by the camera man i would tell him how to do it and it would work most of the time. Finally i learnt how to manage my time because we had one day to do this remake and we had to manage our time so we could film and finish editing by the end of the day. We done this by simply just sticking to the task and not manipulating our freedom.
What we need to work on before filming out own opening ?
We need to first choose a genre so that we know how to manipulate the use of MECS. So for example for editing we could use ambient sounds as its a thriller and generally just incorporate thriller like features into the editing and filming part. Then we need crete a script so we know what each character needs to say. We need to create a story board so we know what kind of action the character needs to do. Finally we need to watch a few thriller openings to get a general idea on how to do ours, so we have ideas to combine together from all different ascots of the thriller genre.

Production log - Week 6
I had to look at billing order so what would be conventional credits in most thriller opening scenes. I found that certain credits have more screen time than other credits, for example, the film's name would appear longer than most of the other credits. Some credits are different to others to make them stand out to show importance. These type of credits would help us construct our final thriller opening scene as credits are vital for every film.

Production log - Week 5
We had to outline common plots in thriller movie for story and narrative. We made a list of the props we need, make-up used and what costume the protagonist will wear. After researching into psychological thriller genres, we decided to keep the typical plots and similar iconographies and conventions so it wouldn't be must difference between most thriller films.

Production log - Week 4
I researched into thriller films and analysed thriller film openings of students and actual films by using MECS (mise-en-scene, editing, camerawork and sound). I also did an elevator pitch so for my group but we didn't go with my idea as it wasn't as good as my other group members and it also was very difficult to construct. I presented all these tasks with a creative method instead of boring words as the reader will lose interest very easily. I kept it short and details so it's concise.
Production Log Week Four
Week Four:
I had done three individual tasks: film opening analysis, elevator pitch and the genre/subgenre. Out of the three of these I had found the film opening analysis the most difficult. This was due to the extent of detail I had to go into, especially when I had to include MECS (Mise-En-Scene, Editing, Camera, and Sound). As this consumed a lot of my time. I had done my film opening analysis on PowerPoint and uploaded it via slide share. The ones I found fun and easiest were the elevator pitch this was easy because you had to simply just use 25 words and it was fun because you had to basically recreate your ideas using images.
The two pitches were pretty easy and not time consuming. One of my ideas I had was chosen for us to actually make as our final piece over winter. It was about a man who wakes up from a coma and the whole country has just disappeared. Therefore I had to make sure that it all made sense and all fit in under out chosen genre. This was in case
it didn’t and we started
recording, this would be a huge waste of time. For my pitch we needed only one character and only one major location with one minor location for a small scene. Genre and sub genres was slightly harder because we all want to make our audience laugh which would make them like the opening scene. However we knew that as a group we would not be able to do such a script because comedy is such a cliché movie which meant we would have to make original jokes. As a group we saw this as pretty hard. In my own time however I did search up about comedies but learnt that they are really hard to compose due to the millions of comedy movies. So we ended up with a thriller because I thought that it would be much easier for the audience to recognise the genre at ease. Not only that but making a thriller is much more easily compared to a comedy. Therefore we had chosen a psychological thriller.

My Genre's Pro's & Cons
Nikhil,
Drama Thriller Pro's
Background music easy to make.
Not a lot of props needed.
Thriller is very slow pace filming.
Music does most of the talking.
Easy to edit
Many people like thrillers.
Drama Thriller Con's
So many thrillers are made that no-one finds them scary anymore.
You could scare someone so much that they could be hurt physically.
Thrillers need age rating which means that they lose out of younger viewers.
As a lot of people make thrillers, there is a lot of competition.
Lots of thrillers means that there is a possible chance of you getting sued for copyright.
Due to so many thrillers, its harder to write a thriller because most ideas have been used.

What have they done well?
One of the things they done well was using appropriate music in the background, they didn't use sad or happy music they used dark, sinister music, and this aids the genre of thriller because its scary and ghost like. They used low key lighting which also aids the thriller genre to keep it dark and scary. Without even having dialogue they sent their message out by the shot types and the little flash forwards she was having. The blood and gory that were shown in the flash forwards were aiding the genre. Also the editing used when she was having the flash forwards was amazing like when she was slicing her throat with her keys, it looked extremely realistic.
How could they have improved?
Firstly there was a lot of shaking when filming, if they had made it less shaky it would have had a more realistic feel to it allowing it to create verisimilitude would have been more believable. Sometimes the camera shakes as if someone hit the camera and it was about to fall, this should have ben re recorded as it does not look professional, this happens when she's walking down the stairs and when she is looking at herself in the mirror.
What did i learn from this opening to aid my opening?
I learnt that you need to tell the audience exactly what is happening by not having dialogues and the way you do that is by having many different shot types and edit at a professional level. I learn that when the camera is shaky, it makes the opening look amateur, so to keep it still when recording mine. Also i need to have sinister and scary music in the background to make it aid my genre of thriller. Similarly to make it more sinister we need to add filters to darken the lighting and have low key lighting to help with the scary, sinister and dark affect on the audience.
Production Log (Week 3)
Week 3. We had started filming, and we opted for a hand-held shot as this allowed for more mobility. We had taken a tripod, but it seemed more natural to use a hand-held shot then reduce the shakiness on iMovie. Problems faced while we were shooting were that it was hard to plan where and what shot were going to do, as the room we needed was in use, so my group had to adjust to the room. One other problem was that focusing was hard while zooming, but it helped us add to the suspense by adding a bit of fuzziness, or distortion. The ambiance helped us to feel the 'silence' and the atmosphere felt perfect. We had originally planned to do the filming a week after, but we were unaware of time, so time management was great as everyone knew what to do, and filming was done in 30/40 minutes. One problem with the limited time was that the script was unrehearsed, so we projected it onto the screen so the actors knew what to say. I believe that we could have done much better, but this helped us improve on how to shoot better, and improving our editing.
I had shot the film, and I expected it to be easier. I couldn't decide whether to film the entire thing 4 times, each time focusing on a particular shot. However, this could have been harder, and the entire script had to be memorized and we could not as the limited time hindered this. So we chose to shot a scene, then 'freeze' the actors, then continue from a different angle. This was easier as we had a 3-second delay, so each cutscene was not like a 'jump-cut' but more natural looking. We also allowed a 3-second delayed ending so we could cut more naturally.
Script for Preliminary Analysis
Week 2: We had planned out our script (although it was based on an actual script). We had included shots. While I wrote down the script, James was busy doing the storyboard to fit the script. We had encountered problems as we did not know where to film, and we had to scratch out the 'CCTV Overhead Shot'. We filmed over a period of 2 days, an hour each day, and we had completed the filming. Overall, I enjoyed filming and everyone cooperated well. We had several problems such as insufficient time to rehearse, so the projector was on, and actors read off it.

Production log - Week 3
As a group, we decided to start filming for our preliminary task and opening scene re-make of a film after school as that was the only time available for all of us. Daniel was the cameraman, James, Nikhil and I were the actors for both. After we filmed it, Nikhil edited as he has made YouTube videos before so he had some experience. We used many shot types, lighting and dialogue. However, we made many careless mistakes but it was too late to improve on it as we already had uploaded on YouTube. Overall, we managed to spend our time wisely, efficiently and work together as a group for our first production task.
Production Log Week Three
Week Three:
This week we had started filming. As a group we decided that Daniel did not want to be recorded so I would be acting, alongside Raj and James. Raj was
only used for the beginning as the camera was lifted over the back of someone’s
head. I was doing the role of Tommy from Snatch. It was pretty easy as there was no talking it was simply actions however the difficult part was synchronising it with the video.
After it was all recorded I had done all the editing by myself because I’ve edited
and made videos for YouTube before so I knew the editing techniques. After then combining the videos and adding the transitions I exported the video so
it’s
all one video. Then once I had a full video I put that into iMovie and started to add sounds and filters. This was to make it seem really realistic. After watching the finished version over a few times I did find a few faults in the editing sector. These were that there were too many of the same transactions used so it gets really boring. However by this time it was too late as it was uploaded to out
YouTube channel. Another fault I found was when I was using the “less shaky” editing
feature on iMovie it did not really make the video less shaky. In fact it made it worse because in some scenes you can see that the background is moving and the actual actor is not moving. So it was a bit confusing I do not know whether it was a fault on
my side or if it’s a fault with iMovie. I think this because the iMacs had all been
updated to the latest firmware therefore there could be a few bugs on the software and maybe the less shaky feature was one of the issues.

Student Opening Analysis by Raj
To begin with, The students opening scene for a thriller genre has used appropriate costume to fit into the thriller genre. The characters costume is black which connotes that she is a antagonist as the colour black means danger and evil. She has also worn a scarf which is partly yellow suggesting that she is intellect. We can hear sounds like droplets of blood dripping or a piano key playing to build tension as it is played very slowly. By the looks of her costume it looks tight to show the audience she is fit. This can be linked to another thriller movie called divergent as the costume for Tris is tight to show that she is in shape and muscular.
Other elements of mise-en-scene used are make-up and props. The make-up is not appropriate for the opening scene for the extract as usually antagonists wouldn’t wear light coloured make-up they would normally wear darker make-up and they would also look quite older. The props that have been used are a glass full of water with some pills with red lipstick. This could mean, in this case that the girl is a psycho as she is taking medicine or drugs. The red lipstick means that there is danger.
There were numerous types of camera shots used in this extract. First there was the close-up which showed her facial expression which was her just doing her make-up and she had a smirk on her face which could mean she is up to no good. This creates tension because the audience doesn’t know what she did. Then the POV shot was used to show the objects of what she was doing with them. This creates tension because no one knows how much of those drugs or medicines she has taken due to her craziness. At the start of the opening scene there was panning when the camera moved left to right towards the flats then there was a dolly zoom to get a closer look at what is happening to build tension of what could be in the flat. Another shot used was the mid- shot to show some torso and background. The girl was standing there beside a red wall. The wall colour could connote that there was going to be even more danger and a lot of blood. Then there was tracking shot which was following Rhianna's shoes up until the door. This created tension because the audience doesn’t know what’s behind the door.

Analysis of Preliminary and Remake Task
Preliminary: I particularly enjoyed shooting, although this was complicated at first, since location was not decided, so decision making by group was superb, as we all could be on the same line and agree on the decisions. We applied a 3-second delay to the beginning and ending of shooting to allow easier cutting in the editing process. I opted for a hand-held shot to make it look more natural, and allow for more mobility in terms of moving the camera, which can be seen when James approaches Nikhil. The camera is fixed on James as he moves, but utilizing a tripod may have limited the movements and would have been heavy to lift, resulting in a more shaky shot.

Production log - Week 2
We started thinking of our script for our preliminary task as a group and chose to alter an actual script. James decided he will do the storyboards as he's good at drawing and the rest of my group were planning.
Production log - Week 1
Every member of the group had to produce at least two logos for our production company. Two were chosen as a group which were complemented our genre (thriller).
Remake: Snatch
Logo
This is one of the logos i had made on photoshop, it was easy and simple to do however it did not suit the genre of the production. The good things about this logo was that the dark/black/grey background correlated with the genre because the genre was sort of mystery/sci-fi.
The bad thing about this logo was that the company name did not have anything to do with robots, therefore this part was slightly irrelevant. Also when i had searched for bad Robot on the video
So i made another logo called shady entertainment, this logo looked much better, therefore we chose this one as the groups logo. The good thing about this logo was that it supported our genre of the preliminary task and the re-make.
Another thing i had done was playing both roles in the preliminary and the re-make. The role i played in the preliminary was Dante, and the role i played in the re-make of Snatch was the partner in crime, in that role i did not say much.
One of the things i could have done when playing the role of Dante is that when i played the role, it was my first time and i kept looking at the camera, so we had to keep re-recording it and it was taking a lot of time up. Another thing i could have done better was that when we had to do a shot from a distance i didnt speak loud enough
Production Log (Week 2)
Week 2: We had planned out our script (although it was based on an actual script). We had included shots. While I wrote down the script, James was busy doing the storyboard to fit the script. We had encountered problems as we did not know where to film, and we had to scratch out the 'CCTV Overhead Shot'.
Script Analysis for 2 minute film (Week 6)
Week 6: I was in charge of the script, intending to keep the character sympathetic to the character, and creating a sort-of bond between the audience and protagonist. Only one character was involved in the beginning, so not much could have been said, and the shots essentially replace the dialogue, so I tried to focus more on the shots.
Production Log by Daniel
Week 4: I had done 3 different tasks in a week; opening film analysis, pitches, and genres/sub-genres. The opening analysis for 2 different films was difficult. The editing of the slides can be very time-consuming, but Prezi also seemed very monotonous. It was not a very hard task, only analyzing certain important scenes which fit under MECS (Mise-En-Scene, Editing, Camera, Sound). I particularly enjoyed these films, therefore I found it easier to analyse. These also fit under the genres that we would base our film on, consequently bolstering our knowledge on these types of films.
Week 6: I was in charge of the script
Production logo by Raj
Phoenix Production - The picture of the phoenix is the main logo but it doesn't stand out so I didn't choose it. It's not appealing or eye catchy because it's very plain and it's very simplistic. The font is not bold and bright so it's also not eye pleasing.
KayPlus Production - This logo is very plain, it doesn't reflect our company name. The font again is also very bad so it won't be appealing to the audience.
Super Entertainment - This logo has a treble clef on an arc. The name 'super entertainment', doesn't go with the music sign (treble clef) so the logo is not suitable for our production company.
Logo Analysis (Week 1)
Week 1: We started off doing logos for our production company. We all made different logos and uploaded them onto the blog. Each outcome was very good, however, we opted for Shady Entertainment.
Production Logos (by Daniel)
For Real Impact Studios, I believe that the writing was not good enough. It was too big and it didn't seem right for our type of company. However, it did seem to stand out clearly, as the letters were clear.
Vortex Productions had the wrong palette colour and it didn't stand out as clearly, and the use of a drawing as the 'O' in Vortex makes it seem as if it were 'Vertex' and this could confuse people. However, the sign made it look creative and original, and the big letters in contrast with the small letters for 'productions' (as used in mainly every company) helps us divert our eyesight to Vortex first, and if the logo seemed interesting, the film may avail to people's interests.
Lunar Phase Productions utilised a moon in the background, keeping it relevant to the company name. It made it look eye-catching and appealing, and the font used were simple but powerful in terms of the background. However, if people were to find out what types of genres the company did, the people may confuse it for a Sci-Fi film. The contrast of colour between green and black can help us distinguish between what we are meant to read, and the importance of it.
Production Log (Week One)

Production Log Week Two
Week Two:
As a group we had planned the script which was based on an actual script, so we altered it. Then Daniel chose to write it out and James decided because he is good at art he would do the storyboards. I was the one who was discussing with them and giving them the ideas, however Raj also did help out.

Week One:
Week one involved each member of the group were producing logos for our company. Each member made at least two logos and together as a group we chose one. I made two logos which I thought were appropriate for our genre which is a thriller. Therefore we had to create a logo which complimented our genre. My logo was not chosen because it did not correlate with the genre.
